Odíhg Gùreiēù (/gʊr/ /ˈejʊ/ [click] [distant]) is a subtropical Town located in the Kveviēid Region of the Tetbur Commune.

The name Odíhg Gùreiēù is derived from the Tauric language, as Odíhg Gùreiēù was founded by Trg̈mtëm Every, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Odíhg Gùreiēù has a yearly average temperature of 28°C (82°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 31°C (87°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 25°C (77°F). Odíhg Gùreiēù receives an average of 186 cm/y (73 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Odíhg Gùreiēù covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 4898 m (16069 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Odíhg Gùreiēù was founded durring the late 14th century in winter of the year 1352, by Trg̈mtëm Every. The establishment of Odíhg Gùreiēù was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Trg̈mtëm Every struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Odíhg Gùreiēù as a prison colony.

Odíhg Gùreiēù was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the late 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Odíhg Gùreiēù is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature delicute timber framework hidden behind layer upon layer of finly ground plaster bleached to an almost glossy white sheen, with green clay tiled roofs and decorative brass-leafed trim. Even the smallest, poorest looking structures appear to be expencive thanks to the extreem elegence of the organic shapes and paterns going into their lofty, spire-y, vagly gothic designs. The more well off folks live in identicle homes, save for even shiner trim and a more whimsical appearance to their structures flowing forms.

Odíhg Gùreiēù is buildings are arranged within a network of restrictive packed earth streets which form a rectangular grid, where each block verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller block has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town sits behind a stone-renforced palisade wall, with stone gatehouses and timber drawbridges for their trench. Odíhg Gùreiēù's would-be-castle fortifications are suffering from significent damage, so much so that examples can be pointed to no matter which section one might have within their line of site, and most of which render sections inoperable at present.

Odíhg Gùreiēù is not quite well. Something happened here, perhapse recently, perhapse long ago. Whatever it was, it settled into the very soul of the town like a festering wound. The people go about their day well enough, but there’s a tention in the air you can cut with a knife. You get the terrible feeling that whatever it was, the wound it left will simply never heal. This town is as a necropolice.

Cultural Notes

Odíhg Gùreiēù's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for its striking sculptural forms and often dazzling ornamental detail that characterizes the buildings general shape. The radiant colors, rich patterns, and symmetrical silhouettes employed by this style were backed up by rich decorative features including gardens, courtyards, extruded arches, domes, pointed domes, vaulted ceilings, elaborate painted and inlaid designs, and decorative sculptures.

History

Odíhg Gùreiēù is in secret rebellion against their ostensible liege, having cut deals with his enemies, plotted to betray him for their own gain, or bridled under his tyranny and sought a better lord. The community’s leadership is all in on this plot, and outside viceroys or representatives are being kept carefully ignorant of the reality. The common folk may be oblivious to the truth, though they’ll doubtless have felt the same motivations and promptings that convinced their leaders to turn traitor.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century several years of heavy rains culminated in a peculiar disaster. A great hole opened up beneath Odíhg Gùreiēù, swallowing large sections of the community. Odíhg Gùreiēù lost 149 people, 182 livestock, and 89 buildings in the disaster. This disaster is often refereed to as The Suffering Swallowing.
